Palm civet known as civet cat or toddy cat is a common pet in Indonesia and Malaysia. If you want to keep civet as pet, make sure that civet is allowed to keep by law in your country. There's many country that disallow civet to keep as pet because they think its a wild and dangerous, but its not fully true. Civet can be tamed, very tame like cat. And its a sweet pet to keep. 1. Civet is a nocturnal animal, they active at night.
However, you still can play to them at daylight.
2. Civet is a omnivorous, they eat both meat and fruits.
The best food that you can give to them is fruit like bananas and papaya. I also give my civet a bowl of boiled chicken heads every Sunday.
3. Remember: they still have a wild instinct.
They can bite and hurt you. So, if your civet cat is not tamed yet, perhaps its better to keep away to child. You can make your civet tame by play with them. More you play with them, you can make a bond with them, and they can trusted you. Need much time to make a wild caught civet cat to be tamed. Its can be done if you’re patience.
